RUAPEHU

This is Mount Ruapehu, I passed it on my travels over the holiday season.
It is an active volcano that also is home to a large lahar due to spill its banks anytime this month. I took this picture standing on the desert road, outside Taupo on the way to New Plymouth. Ruapehu's last big eruption was in 1992 which by all accounts was spectacular. More photo's to follow, Oh & yes..you can ski on it.
