Arrived back at 6.00 am in to a dark Manchester Monday, weather not as cold as expected.
Then a car ride across the Pennines trying to take it all in & back to see Mum for the first time in 5 years. Big hugs all round. Finally unpacked just in time for a visit to the pub for lunch then home for a cat nap.
Evening spent on the sofa with wine & much chatter.
The weekend involves catching up with my old mate Miff in Scarborough. There are heaps of other things in between so watch this space.
First impressions ? The TRAFFIC ! Makes downtown Auckland look positively quiet. The weather, not as cold as I expected but I need a warm coat, the beer....mmmmm, the pies.....mmmmm Time to explore I think.

Welcome back to Blighty David! it's funny you should mention the traffic. Katherine has recently been posting picturs of NZ and it looks as if hardly anybody lives there - which is in a sense almost true! This island is so full we need to write the word "FULL" in great big letters on the Cliffs of Dover.
