Manukau

This weekend marks the start of the Super 14, another opportunity for the Blues to try to kick start their underperforming backline then seriously kick some Aussie & Bok butt.
As well as hopefully poking those Cantabs in their one good eye.
It also means that we are in to the end game as far as summer is concerned. But hopefully there will be a few more months of convivial weather before we hit autumn.

The bush walk is still go, looks as if I will be walking from Manukau Heads to Kare Kare beach along the coastline. I have done this trip before, it is a firm favorite of mine & well worth the effort expended. The enviroment out there is so wild, especially when the wind is blowing in from the Tasman Sea.
The scenery along the dunes & back towards the Waitakere ranges is exceptional.

Ahh... New Zealand. It's one place on Earth I'd love to visit... before China, before Brazil, before Mexico or Zanzibar... I loved the idea of New Zealand long before those "Lord of the Rings" films. Did you ever read "The Bone People"...and yes I did see "Once Were Warriors" ... and why did you guys exterminate the legendary Elephant Bird?
