POSTTURKEYFOODFEST

Well the holidays passed in a blur of shredded wrapping paper, whizzing presents & a landslide of food. The weather was great with lots of hot sunshine & the company was agreeable.

All this was interspered with texts from a good friend saying how much she was enjoying NZ & could not wait to meet up with me in Auckland later in January.
Having not clapped eyes on this person for twenty five years or so it will be a memorable night I am sure.

To make sure that the night goes on for as long as we can stay awake, I have booked in to the same hotel so there will be no need to worry about getting home. We have a lot of catching up to do & as we both never use a couple of words when a couple of thousand will easily do. It makes sense to ensure we make the best of the limited time available to us.

I got a small but very select number of gifts this year, A couple of biographies, one on Robert Crumb the cartoonist, another about Peter Cook, along with, The Split Enz reunion DVD ( A kiwi institution), clothing & aftershave.
The children seemed pleased with my choices for them, their tastes are now so divergent as they grow.
Well next up New Years celebrations & reflection on what a year it has been I guess.
