Tsunami

The sheer horror of recent Tsunami that struck over the holiday period is starting to hit home. It's not just the numbers involved but the potential for loss in the aftermath as disease begins to spread. Events in the Indian ocean only bring home how tenuous our grip is on this planet. Because of the industry I work in news & ground level reports come in via colleagues in these countries but instead of broadening my understanding it just rams home how tiny we are. Even as I type this there are stations in the Maldives & Indonesia where we have not made contact with fellow workers & agents.
