Norman died last week & the funeral is on Monday. The last of three brothers on my paternal side. They never got on with each other, keeping up with the politics of their relationship was a training ground for Israeli / Lebanese negotiators. They were not men you hugged. They did not understand the concept of " Taking part " Only the winners got a prize at the end. His generation never "had it good " All they knew was work. It was a value they instilled in to their children. At the risk of sounding like a right wing arse... it is a value missing today.
