Hubble

A happy Twentieth anniversary to the Hubble telescope. This wonderful device has provided me with an endless supply of stunning images for my desktop wallpaper & screen saver. Our Galaxy has never looked so good. They are the kind of views that make you realise just how insignificantly unimportant you really are in the vast scheme of things.

It was also a shame to hear of the death of Malcolm Mclaren, although I did not always agree with his situationist view of things, nor his claim to be a great manipulator of people, he did make me laugh & think about things. He also had a good eye for musical trends, 'characters' like him are few & far between in these bland p.c. times.

As an afterthought can anyone even pronounce the name of the erupting volcano in Iceland ? It has been interesting here watching t.v. news broadcasters studiously avoid the word, referring to ' Iceland's volcano' etc
Not that I will be pronouncing the word in a bar near you any time soon.

Listening to:

Babyshambles
Weather Report
Laura Marling
White Stripes
Stone Temple Pilots

Eyjafjallajökull? Icelandic speakers say it fast but if you say it slow it is quite easy EYA - FYALLA - YOKUL. But it has been the same in the UK - news broadcasters avoid the word. Cultural imperialism is not dead.
