NASTY

This piece of " art " sits near the town centre in Henderson. It is by far the most hideous piece of plastic ( yes plastic ) posing as civic art, I have ever seen.
There is nothing on the piece to say who produced it, what it is called or what it represents, probably due to the shame all involved felt for putting it there.

This is a perfect example of local government detracting from rather than enhancing a public space. The location is not the most pleasant either, situated as it is by a busy intersection. I am surprised passing motorists having been distracted by it's sheer ugliness have not crashed in to each other.

It's not that I don't like modern art: there is plenty of it that I do like. But this piece is, as you say, truly hideous, and lends weight to the old saying that sculpture is what you bump into when you're looking at the paintings. Sadly there are no paintings as a distraction.
