TANNED

The summer brings with it two adverts that Kiwi's could do without, the first is a Goverment sponsored advert that invites us to " Slip, Slop, Slap, Wrap " in other words Slip in to a shirt, Slop on some sunscreen SPSF 30+ is recommended, Slap on a hat & Wrap on some sunnies. ( Sunglasses for non kiwi's ).
The reason for this is that on days like Saturday you are advised not to go out during the part of the day when the sun is at it's highest without protection from
burning & skin cancer. The reason is the hole in the ozone layer above NZ W
Which brings me to the second advert; this appears every night on our National newscast & is a little meter at the side of the map of NZ, showing the intensity of the next days radiation. This weekend it has been at 11+ the maximum warning. Yet George Bush & others who will not sign the Kyoto accord, argue against global warming. Well twats; we are living with the fallout from all those warnings about damaging the ozone layer you chose to ignore.Wonder if they will get it right this time .....
