I was reminded last night in the course of a conversation with a friend of a practical joke we witnessed when we were at school in the UK. I seem to recall it was a biology lesson, one of those occasions when we all had to gather around the teacher & witness him doing something with Potassium..

Next to where we stood was a lab trolley laden with laboratory glassware, test tubes, pipettes, bottles etc etc. On the trolleys second shelf there lay two vital ingredients for what was about to happen. Weights & string. My friend reached down & grabbed a small weight tying the piece of string to one end, the other end of the string was secured to the handle on the lab trolley.

I'm sure you can all guess what came next, but if not..

The weight was carefully placed in a classmates blazer pocket...We waited..then came the fateful words " Right everyone back to your desks & write up what you have just seen " We turned & as we walked back we were rewarded with the triumphant sound of a trolley loaded with glassware crashing to the ground. The whole class had to stay behind for an hour while they tried to find out who the culprit was, the teacher was defeated by a wall of silence.

High school teachers are crazy.
They have to be.

That's why I stuck to elementary grades.
I don't have the patience for high school shenanigans.
They would have taken me away with a coat over my head and my hands cuffed behind my back.

lol, I would have loved to have seen that - our science teacher was a very strict professor-like chap who would have punished the whole class anyway...
